Step 1 - Cleaning

Cleaning the closet has always been one of the hardest things for women, but it is the most important part of doing the right selection. It is a big step because you will not want to part with lots of clothes. Keep in mind that if you did not wear the piece at least once in the last six months, it must go. Start with emptying the closet, separating the things you want to stay with those that will go. When everything is out, the closet will be empty, and you will look differently at it.

Step 2 - Sorting Out

The proper selection and sorting of the clothes is another important step in creating a great capsule wardrobe. To do that successfully, follow these steps:

Yes: Ask yourself if you love that piece or not. If you love it, it goes to the Yes pile.

No: If you never wore it or you do not like it, it goes to the No pile.

Maybe: The pieces in the Maybe pile can have some sentimental value, be a gift, or something else.

  • The clothes from the yes pile go back into the closet
  • The clothes from the no pile can be either donated, gifted or thrown away
  • The clothes from the maybe pile can be stored
